My journey with CrossFit began in 2011 when I was anything but fit. Growing up, I was never athletic and the pressure to be “thin” was absolutely suffocating. As a result, I struggled to believe that I had worth. Through CrossFit, I began learning to love and appreciate my body – not for what it looked like – but for what it had the capacity to do. As much as I loved CrossFit, the gym I’d chosen had unfortunately morphed into a very negative experience. As a result, I found myself taking a 7 year hiatus from any and all fitness; but I never lost interest in CrossFit. I remember watching and re-watching You-Tube videos of the CrossFit Games (while enjoying Ben and Jerry’s, of course) and knowing in my heart that I would go back someday. After the birth of my first daughter in 2017, I realized I had reached a massive turning point. My weight had exceeded 350 pounds and I needed to make a change, not only for myself, but for my daughter. My journey had come full circle and I was finally ready to find a new gym and a new coach to dive headfirst back into CrossFit. It was then that I realized that I was called to take that negative experience and flip the script; turning it into a way to help prevent others from experiencing the same pain that I had experienced. My path became very clear: I was meant to become a coach.

As a coach, I take pride in being an example that anyone and everyone can do CrossFit, regardless of body type or athletic ability. I am so grateful that I am able to fulfill my dream of coaching others and leading them on their own personal journey toward self-discovery through CrossFit. I hope that by sharing my experiences I will be able to encourage others out there to walk through our doors and take that first step on their journey. Coaching is a responsibility that I take extremely seriously and I am dedicated to creating a place of comfort, support, and encouragement in every class that I coach; helping everyone feel safe, welcomed, and celebrated in the CrossFit arena. CrossFit has brought me so much more than a 100+ pound weight loss and a dream career; it gave me my life back.

Outside the gym, you’ll find me chasing after my two young, very active daughters! I also enjoy dusting off the old guitar from time to time and putting pen to paper. Singing and writing are two of my other passions I love to share to bring compassion and joy into others’ lives.
